The Heidrun field is located on the Halten Bank in the Norwegian Sea, 30 kilometers northeast of Åsgard. The water depth is 350 meters. Heidrun was discovered in 1985, and the Plan for Development and Operation was approved in 1991. The field is developed with a floating concrete tension-leg platform (TLP) positioned above a subsea template with 56 well slots. In addition, there are six subsea templates in the southern and northern parts of the field, tied back to the Heidrun TLP. Production started in 1995.
